P.A.R.T.s. - Play Alone, Role Together system
A downloadable game

P.A.R.T.s. is a framework for solo roleplayers who want the best of both worlds: the freedom of playing alone and the thrill of sharing a living, evolving setting with others. Instead of gathering around a table at the same time, each player runs their own solo sessions, at their own pace, then feeds the results back into a shared “world document” that everyone can read, build on, and transform.
At its heart, P.A.R.T.s. is a “Play Alone, Role Together” structure: a group of solo players agrees on a system, a setting, and a tone in a focused Session Zero, then takes turns booking sessions and advancing the fiction. Each scene you play—your discoveries, your NPCs, your factions, your catastrophes—becomes part of a common canon that other players will later encounter, twist, and deepen in their own solo games. No one has to GM, no one has to host a regular session, and yet you still get the feeling of walking the same streets, meeting the same NPCs, and facing the same threats as your friends.
The guide inside this project walks you step by step through setting up your shared world: how to run Session Zero, how to choose a solo system that works for asynchronous play, and how to use the booking system so sessions never contradict each other. It explains how to handle timelines, how to treat other players’ characters with care, how to manage factions and world-state over time, and how to keep a lightweight but powerful world document that makes your campaign easy to follow.
P.A.R.T.s. is system-agnostic: it does not replace your solo RPG, it wraps around it. Any narrative-focused solo game with oracles or a GM emulator can live inside P.A.R.T.s., allowing you to turn a purely personal journaling experience into an open-table, drop‑in/drop‑out shared chronicle. Whether your group wants an endless open campaign, a tight short arc, or an experiment where everyone writes scenes for the same protagonist, the framework gives you tools and examples to make it work smoothly.
If you already love solo RPGs but keep wishing someone else could “be there” for the wild twists your oracle throws at you, P.A.R.T.s. is designed for that exact moment.
What kind of shared solo experience are you hoping to host on your itch.io page—a small, intimate world for a couple of friends, or a larger open table where anyone can wander in and leave their mark?
